A Math Update

We are working our way through Unit 2 of the Math Makes Sense program. We're on Lesson 6: Adding and Subtracting Two-Digit Numbers, but we've actually covered quite a bit more from this 14-lesson unit. We're in really good shape and I'm looking to have our Unit Test the week of October 24th.  

We still have to cover addition and subtraction of three-digit numbers and then explore some problem solving situations. 

The photos below from last year show what we'll cover today and likely Wednesday. 

The boys and girls are learning that by drawing a picture to accompany a problem, they can be more successful in finding a solution. Something as simple a tally marks can really help.
