Are you ready!? Are you ready!?

With just a few days to go, I'm busy making sure everything is polished, copied and labeled for my new group of students on Tuesday!  It's going to be a terrific year! I begin my 20th year of teaching and my students can look forward to all kinds of fun, laughter and learning!  

This is our dog Charlie! He loves to come visit Room 208, but he usually waits until after the boys
and girls have gone home. He loves coming to try and remove all the tennis balls on the bottoms of our chairs! 

Whether you're a teacher or a student, I hope you're organized and ready to go! Is your first day outfit planned? Are your pencils sharpened and your school bag packed? 

I have all kind of fun new things packed and ready to show my new and old friends!

You can look forward to reading all about our year here on the blog! I encourage parents and students to visit often! Please also be sure to follow our class on Instagram and Twitter for important reminders and great photos! Look for @meandmythrees on both platforms.  

If you're out and about this weekend, please remember to pick up or pack the following: 

• indoor shoes that stay at school for the year 
• a refillable water bottle that's labeled (it'll come home nightly) 
• a box of Kleenex and roll of paper towels sure is appreciated 
• a set of markers or pencil crayons
• a big lunch with fruit, veggies, cheese or yogurt as your first recess snack 

Some things to practice over the weekend: 

• a good handshake (use your right hand, make eye contact) 
• your teacher's name (Misses Meh-hal-a-dess) 
• practice your no-excuse words (see photo above)! 
• practice the math songs from this blog (see top right hand corner of this page)

As you can see, the classroom is coming along very nicely!I'm still working on some final details, but be sure to visit the blog over the weekend, when I'll post a classroom tour!

Boys and girls, I'm really excited to read you all the book, "We Don't Eat Our Classmates"! It's the funniest book ever! And I'll tell you all about why I need you to bring your Zippy to school each day (don't worry, I'll give you one!) 

Mr. M thought it was pretty funny that I was asking him to take a picture of me holding a box of Zip Lock bags! 😃
